The Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook
1999-2000 (MYEFO) contains budget estimates for the period 1999-2000 to
2002-03 revised for the latest economic parameters and to account for post-Budget policy decisions and variations. The MYEFO also presents updated economic forecasts for 1999-2000, together with preliminary economic forecasts for 2000-01, and projections for 2001-02 and 2002-03.

The MYEFO has been drafted in line with the Charter of Budget Honesty Act 1998. The Charter requires that, among other things, the Government provide a report by the end of January of updated information on the assessment of the Government's fiscal performance against its current fiscal strategy (which is set out in the 1999-2000 Budget).
