Historical Budget and Net Debt Data

This appendix provides historical data and forward estimates for Commonwealth general government cash receipts, cash payments, cash surplus and net debt. The table below provides details of the cash budget aggregates for the period 1975-76 to 2005-06. Due to a break in the series following the introduction of new accrual accounting standards, receipts and payments data from 1999-2000 are not directly comparable with earlier years.
