Australian Federal Police — future operational systems

The Government will provide $69.0 million over five years (including $2.1 million in 2011-12) to acquire and develop the next generation of the Australian Federal Police’s operations and intelligence IT system.

This measure includes $16.8 million in expense funding over four years for project management and training.

The cost of this measure is partially offset by $3.8 million from within the existing resourcing of the Australian Federal Police.

High Court of Australia — roof repair

The Government will provide $3.5 million in 2007-08 for repair work to the trafficable roofs and balconies of the High Court building in Canberra.

International traveller assessment and clearance — system modernisation

The Government will provide $26.7 million over two years for the replacement of the IT system used by the Australian Customs Service in assessing and clearing international travellers. The new system will provide enhanced operational capacity through a new alerts management system and by integrating key intelligence data systems. The system will be developed to accommodate possible future enhancements.

This measure includes $6.3 million in expense funding for project management and consultancy services.

Part of the cost of this measure ($3.6 million in 2007-08) will be met from within the existing resourcing of the Australian Customs Service.
