France — refurbishment of chancery in Paris

The Government will provide $28.3 million over four years to refurbish all building services in the Paris chancery to meet operational, safety and security requirements.

The cost of this measure will be funded from the reserves held in the Overseas Property Special Account of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Japan — refurbishment of apartments in Tokyo

The Government will provide $22.0 million over three years to undertake a mid-life refurbishment of the residential apartments in the chancery complex in Tokyo, Japan.

The cost of this measure will be funded from the reserves held in the Overseas Property Special Account of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Kenya — acquisition of land and construction of new chancery in Nairobi

The Government will provide $9.7 million over two years to acquire land and construct a new chancery in Nairobi, Kenya. The new chancery will meet the operational, safety and security requirements of High Commission staff and visitors.

The cost of this measure will be funded from the reserves held in the Overseas Property Special Account of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
